Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam certainly was a ratings gangbuster. Thanks to the 8 million people who tuned into the flick on Friday (September 3) when it premiered on Disney Channel, it seems likely that a lot of people would be excited to continue the fun in a third flick. And, it was an idea that the film’s fearless female lead, Demi Lovato, was certainly down with when MTV News caught up with her earlier this summer.
“We don’t know! It could be. It could be the end,” she teased about the flick. “It could be the next chapter! I would love to see another ‘Camp Rock’ movie happen.”

Demi also seemed completely excited by the idea of taking Camp Rock to the big screen, if they should happen to make it a trilogy. It would be the same step that the third (and final) High School Musical flick made. “That could be a really cool step. It might come to a point where we’re all doing our own things or maybe it doesn’t work because ‘Camp Rock‘ is now closed. You never know so you’ll just have to find out,” she revealed. “Maybe I’m just trying to throw you off.”

It should be noted that if Camp Rock 2 had opened in theaters, it would have grossed $63.2 million on its opening night, based on Friday night viewers and the country’s average ticket sales. That might be a reason enough to try and make that magic happen at least one more time for a big screen adaptation of the tale. Plus who wouldn’t love seeing Demi and the JoBros on the big screen!

In an interview about the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, star of the movie Demi Lovato chatted about what it’s like to see her face on iTunes when her music, or the music from her movies, is for sale.

Demi also admits in the interview that she will buy her album a couple times when it comes out – but she never listens to it!

‘Camp Rock’ was such a sensational hit for the Disney Channel, they smartly decided to get the gang back together for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (premieres Fri., Sept. 3, 8PM ET). But something’s standing in the way of Mitchie and the boys having a rockin’ summer: rival Camp Star across the lake. The whole thing ends in a musical battle to end all battles, deciding which is the better camp.

I caught up with Nick, Joe, Kevin and Demi to hear all about the sequel, some new characters and some that’ve grown up since the first film and if there are more Camp Rock movies in their future.

NEW YORK (Billboard) – Before Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers once again invade tween TVs with “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” fans of the Disney franchise can sing along with the “Camp Rock 2″ soundtrack, due August 10.

With the follow-up to the 2008 musical set to premiere September 3, the soundtrack aims to unveil its 14 tunes through a mix of radio airplay and heavy touring.

The soundtrack to the original “Camp Rock,” which followed aspiring stars during a summer at music camp, peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 1.3 million copies since its June 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Walt Disney Records hopes to repeat that success by offering more ambitious pop tracks tailored to an established cast.

“We now have the benefit of people having seen the first one and knowing what ‘Camp Rock’ is,” says songwriter Adam Anders, who serves as the music producer for Fox TV series “Glee” and penned the gentle ballad “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” performed by Lovato and Joe Jonas. “Last time we had to shape the main characters, but this time we were able to take the songs to the next level.”
